funny thing about that energy capital ID. Most folks didn't realize
that we had to identify two stations. We didn't want to mention the AM specifically, so it was was WOKI-FM (100.3) WOKI (1550) Oak Ridge.
Over
the first couple of years driving around, I heard three AM stations in
the listening area doing the same thing for their one station- WJJT-AM WJJT Jellico. I would ask a jock and they would say, oh we
loved your idea of dual call letter branding reinforcement. They never
realized it was just a Legal ID.
The
only reason we had the AM was because Johnny's FCC attorney said he
wouldn't file the app for that power guzzling big FM unless he also got a
little AM daytimer so he could actually make money.
