WRJZ came onto the Knoxville radio scene in late 1976. The station had a slick major market sound and had brought in some great sounding DJ's when it debuted...JJ Scott, Rick Kirk, Tim Edwards. The program Director was Bob Kagan, who had been part of 15Q. Later John Boy Isley and Adele became mainstays. There were several hold overs from the WETE era, mainly the morning drive and the afternoon drive jocks, Curtis Parham and Walker Johnson. Together they formed the legendary duo, CP and Walker.
