"My name is Jody Ritchie, I went by Joe Ritchie on the air. I had not worked on the air for WIMZ very long I was the remote engineer plus a full time DJ. I worked the overnight. This was the blizzard of '93, me and Tony Ferina got snowed in at WIMZ for 3 long days I mean I did a 12 hour shift then he would do one. I am very thankful for the snack and soda machine that was in the break room there. You talk about a funny skit that Phil Williams had when he finally made it into the station and found my socks and underwear drying in the control room...I used to be the CE for a few stations back in the day in and around the Knoxville area. I was the CE for WCGM 1120 am in Maryville. Me and my engineering Partner Jeff Loveday had moved the studios of the station we did not get paid and the station did not return to the air. Long story short the owners of the station gave it to me. I put it back on the air playing the urban format and the moniker was "power 1120 jams".This only lasted for I'd say a year and a half I had to shut it down." (Jody Ritchie)
