101 hopes you had a wonderful Christmas and are enjoying the snowy holidays...

"George...In the mid-to-late 70's lots of radio stations fielded basketball and softball teams to help organizations raise money. I remember playing many basketball games with WOKI's "The Force" during that time. We had cool red/yellow uniforms and lots of gifted players who played against teams comprised of PTA leaders, high school football staff (those were rough), University of Tennessee football players, and even local officials. And we played in great venues like the Pittman Center Elementary School, Bell County High School, and Tennessee School for the Deaf. All for good, charitable causes. I'll never forget "Fast Eddie" Wilson's girlfriend, "Bubbles" LaRue, cheerleading for The Force, Scott Sams hitting the key shot in a game at Vonore High School, and Mike Beverly driving the baseline for a layup (nobody would get in his way!). We even got Jack McAmis out there hoopin' it up. So, there was more to the voices behind the mike than just their voices....there were actually some pretty good athletes (although several were just athletic supporters." (Dave Lambert)

"George, I learned of the passing of DAVE BROWN, long time Engineer at WATO in Oak Ridge. The Obit is in the Sentinel." (Ernie Sutton)
