I found out today that Howard Gunter has passed away. Howard was my PD at WBIR and gave me my first full-time radio gig. I had been working part-time for Doc Johnston before Howard came in from WSB Atlanta, He taught me just about everything I know about radio...especially production, When he took the PD job at WETE, I went with him doing afternoons. Howard had some of the best pipes I ever heard; too good for K'town. He wound up back in Atlanta where he lived until he passed. RIP old friend.
