Lots of folks in the 101 inbox today...

"First, great blog/website. I've been going through some old cassettes from the mid 70s transferring to CD. Came across a spot break I believe is from WOKI in the summer of 1975. It includes an East Tennessee Ford :60, complete with jingle. The female vocalist sounds familiar. Reba, perhaps? But a very young Reba, if that's the case. Do you -or does anyone-know who the vocalist was on the old "talk of the town" jingle E. Tn Ford used in the 70s? Thanks." (Brian Stevens)

"I have already been in the process of building a DJ reunion weekend. If you want to post it here, you can have former jocks keep reading your column AND write me @ jeff_jarnigan@comcast.net. Planning on mid to late summer. We will need MP3 air checks and copies of any jingle packages available." (Jeff Jarnigan)

"My name is Scott Shelton, and I am a former news kid at WETE. It started as a practicum assignment for a broadcasting course at UT, but it turned into a paying gig when they gave me the morning drive news anchor slot. The only thing I have left from those days is a couple of orange and white WETE bumper stickers with the UT football "logo" imprinted. Was that on Magnolia Boulevard? And I remember we claimed "We're East Tennessee's Entertainment!" Since then I have always loved getting up around 3:30 AM! So many familiar names are on this board, and the photos are a real blessing to me. Knoxville radio was THE BEST in the early to mid-seventies and I just want to shout out to all the vets that I LOVE ya and I MISS ya and I wish all of you the best. Feel free to contact me - I'm in Clarksville, out of the radio biz but working at something!" (Scott Shelton) wsshelton@bellsouth.net
