1975 was a fast and furious year at WKGN 1340...
"The Dave Young Morning Show" was in high gear as Dave road shotgun with News Director Joe Anderson...however, in February Dr. Al Adams returned to 'KGN as PD and morning DJ.
Your Dave exited and was soon heard on the weekends at WIVK, beginning a long run at WIVK.
Dr. Al quickly added super jock Mike Beach to work 3-7p!
WKGN has a great news team featuring Anderson, Jean Ash...who would soon exit and also find a home at WIVK for decades, and Chris Moser.
1975 brought two young and prominent names to 1340, Kerry Lambert as Kris Lee and Scott Sams. Both became fixtures in Knoxville and in broadcasting in general.
Bob Thomas was also part of the 'KGN landscape that year as he worked the graveyard shift for most of the year before leaving for WBIR 1240...of course Bob went on to DJ at WIVK for over 20 years!
Frank Erwin was the midday host for the entirety of the year...
